TREVISO. The stories of the senators. Of those marathon runners who have participated in all 16 editions of the Treviso Marathon and are preparing to wear the “Treviso” bib for the 17th time. Among these 23 loyalists there are two Roncadesi, Sabrina Cincotto and Michele Schiavon. The first, a 52-year-old trader in the clothing sector with a shop in Roncade, was already running, even before “meeting” the Treviso Marathon. To push her to take to the “street”, a disease to be defeated, Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1998.

“Before the illness I was already running, but from that moment I decided I wanted to run the marathon, sport is like life, reaching a goal is always a beautiful thing – says Cincotto – having overcome the disease made me love him even more. sport, which makes you stronger and allows you to face an obstacle and find the willpower to overcome it. After some experiences in the 42 km, in 2004 I couldn’t miss the home marathon. And I’ve done them all. Which one I liked the most? All were beautiful, with their own stories and emotions to tell. This route is the one I like best and then we go to Restera, a symbolic place ».

The enthusiasm of the other Roncadese, the 50-year-old employee, Michele Schiavon, was also great. «I started running just to do the first edition, before I didn’t run, I came from swimming, long distances – he says – in the end I got passionate about running and I left swimming. Every year for me the Treviso Marathon is a fixed appointment. Even more since 2019, because I was a promoter of entertainment in the municipality of Roncade, with the musical groups and school groups involved. For this year I intend to replicate the initiative. Then the route is very beautiful, with the last kilometers the Sile. Of course, the first time is never forgotten and I also liked the Vittorio – Treviso route ».
