For the first time in the history of Serie A, the highest level of the professional Italian football championship, a match it will be direct by a refereeing team made up of only women: this was communicated by the AIA, the Italian Referees Association. The match is Inter-Turin, valid for the 34th day of the championship: it will be directed by the referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi, and the team will be completed by the two assistants Francesca Di Monte and Tiziana Trasciatti.
Ferrieri Caputi is 34 years old and has a degree in Sociology and social research. She trained in the AIA section of Livorno and has been a professional referee since the 2020/2021 season.
