The operation, perfectly successful, was performed at the University Hospital of Parma by Professor Francesco Pogliacomi and by doctors Luca Guardoli and Emanuele Ciccarone, members of the team of the Orthopedic Clinic, directed by Enrico Vaienti. Doctor Michele Zasa, Health Director of the Mobile Clinic was also present.

“The surgery lasted about an hour and a quarter and we have already planned the post-operative path with the physiotherapists, in order to allow him to get back on his bike in the shortest possible time”, explained surgeons Pogliacomi and Guardoli who years collaborating with the Mobile Clinic.

Rehabilitation

Lorenzo Savadori will therefore begin a rehabilitation process in the next few days that will allow him to be ready for the resumption of sporting activity: for him the return to the track on the Aprilia should be scheduled for the Silverstone GP on 29 August, thus skipping the Austrian GP of Ferragosto.

The fall and the flames

Lorenzo Savadori crashed during the 3rd lap of the Styrian GP at turn 3 of the Austrian Red Bull Ring track: fatal for him the impact with Dani Pedrosa’s KTM, which remained on the trajectory after the Spaniard crashed a few moments earlier . The accident was also bad because in the impact the two bikes caught fire due to the petrol spilled on the asphalt after the collision: immediate interruption of the race with the display of the red flag.
