The 2024 edition of the Ultratrail Mugello opened under the banner of young talents and on the first day of racing, Saturday 27 April, saw the numerous very young people at the start trying their hand at the routes of the Mugello Experience Trail, valid as the first test of the circuit ” Coppa Italia Giovani supported by Loacker” – the federal event dedicated to the Youth A and Youth B categories which for the second consecutive year will graduate the individual winners of the female and male categories and will represent the testing ground for the selections of the national youth teams.

At the end of the fast and demanding 12 km ring with over 500 m of positive difference in altitude, Tommaso Romagnoli (Mugello Outdoor ASD), a very young athlete representing the Youth B national team born in 2006, prevailed over his opponents; in the women’s category, victory for Giorgia Rella, born in 1999. Numerous young people classified among the top positions confirming the successful choice of a race dedicated to them.

The second day of competitions saw more than 700 athletes compete on the longest distances proposed by the organisation: on the paths of the Mugello Trail (24km) victory went to Eddj Nani (Skyrunning Adventure ASD), followed by Matteo Anselmi (Sport Project VCO ASD) and Jacopo Mantovani, in second and third position respectively. In the female category, success for Silvia Gaffi, followed by Giulia Ravasini and Marianna Petruzzi.

In the 43km test (Mugello Marathon Trail), the podium was won by Lorenzo Noe’, Thomas Gusmeo and Leonardo Barioni, who reached the finish line in order; in the women’s race, first place for Daniela Valgimigli, followed by Dinahlee Calzolari and Giada Golinelli.

The 60km Ultra Trail test saw the dominance of Tiziano Scatolin, first ahead of Gianluca Galeati and Lorenzo Casatori. Among women, victory for Cristiana Follador, followed by Sabrina Signori and Marta Doko.
