Kawhi Leonard (26 pts) was the standout for the Clippers, who were still ahead by 21 points at the start of the final quarter. Paul George was missing from the home team. The Clippers are fourth in the standings in the West. The Lakers, who won seven of their last ten games, move up to ninth place.

Denver and Nikola Jokic made short work of Sacramento (117-96). The Serbian achieved his nineteenth ‘triple-double’ (14 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists) of the season, his fourth in a row. On the other side, Domantas Sabonis did not achieve a triple-double this time (13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists). He succeeded in that in the past three matches. The Kings were missing their injured star player De’Aaron Fox. Denver is third in the west, Sacramento eighth.

Luka Doncic also celebrated his 25th birthday with a triple-double. The Slovenian had 30 points, 11 rebounds and 16 assists for Dallas in the 125-136 win at Toronto. The Mavericks have won eight of their last 10 games and are eighth in the West.

Minnesota took the lead thanks to a 110-101 victory against Memphis. Anthony Edwards’ 34 points were again crucial. The Timberwolves lead with 42 wins and 17 losses ahead of Oklahoma City, which played one game fewer.

Cleveland, the number two in the East, fell to Chicago (132-123) after two overtimes. The Bulls thanked Demar DeRozan (35 points) and Andre Drummond (17 points and 26 rebounds).
