New regulation for the Carnia Cup: 25 teams, 5 groups and quick recoveries: here is who is there and how it will work

TOLMEZZO. There are a date and a time. For a few days already, to tell the truth: Sunday 25 July, kick-off at 5.30 pm. We return to play on the fields of Alto Friuli with the start of the 43rd edition of the Coppa Carnia, launched in a necessarily shortened edition given the tight times: it will have a limited duration for the smaller number of participating teams and because after 30 October, for insurance reasons, it will no longer be possible to play.

There are 25 companies that have regularly registered, 13 those who preferred to abstain, considering the protocol commitments for the pandemic not bearable for the managers, without considering a pool of inevitably restricted players: no cup for Ardita, Audax, Campagnola, Comeglians, Ivy, FusCa, The Castle, Paluzza, Pontebbana, San Pietro, Timaucleulis, Trasaghis, Verzegnis, Regulations.

A “controlled” draw was thus carried out, dividing the participants into five groups of five teams each, in order to guarantee at least eight matches for each team in the preliminary round (with home and away matches). The first three classified of each group plus the best fourth classified will be promoted to the round of 16 (scheduled for Sunday 19 September, at 16). For the final classification, the points achieved, the result in the direct match, the difference between the goals scored and conceded, the highest number of goals scored in the group will be taken into account in order: in the event of persistent parity, the draw will be held, which will be managed by the Tolmezzina Delegation of the FIGC.

For the round of 16, quarter-finals (Sunday 26 September, at 4 pm) and semi-finals (Sunday 3 October, at 4 pm) there will be direct elimination matches (in the event of a tie at the end of regular time, the penalties will go directly).

The final is scheduled for Sunday 10 October, on a field yet to be decided

In the months of July and August, the kick-off will take place at 17.30, in September it will be brought forward at 16, while the three midweek rounds (4 and 18 August, 8 September) will be played at night, at 20.30. Any recoveries will be played by the Wednesday following the date of the race. In case of lack of agreement between the companies within 24 hours following the postponed tender, the same will be set by the Delegation ex officio.

News also for the substitutions, which will be five, regardless of the role of the outgoing player. –
