Nicelli jr, double toast at the Adriatic Rally “Cancel the disappointments”

The stradellino driver and the navigator Pieri dominate the Italian junior championship and are also first in R2

STRADELLA

Victory of category and class for Davide Nicelli and the navigator Tiziano Pieri aboard their trusty Renault Clio in the ° Rally dell’Adriatico, second appointment of the well-known Italian Rally Terra and Rally Junior. For the stradellino driver it was supposed to be the redemption race after retiring at San Remo and so it was: he and the faithful Pieri excelled from the first to the last timed meter of the Italian junior, demonstrating an unattainable race pace for the opponents. To this success was added the one in the R2 class.

Here are the words of Nicelli jr at the end of the race: «The balance is very positive, we came to the Marche with the desire to redeem a lackluster start to the season and to win. We knew it was not easy, considering my little experience on dirt roads, and having to battle with fast and aggressive riders, but our determination and competitive nastiness allowed us to get on the top step of the podium; we started on the attack because I wanted to make the power stage our own (first performance test) and we succeeded, then I always tried to push, winning several tests and thus taking a good advantage over the pursuers, with the possibility of doing the last two tests in management thinking only of not making mistakes and reaching the finish line ». The stradellino driver then went on to explain that he felt «finally found again. Success in the Marche gives us morale and the awareness that we have the potential to do well; now it is right to enjoy the moment but we must remember that the road is still very long and difficult, so we need to continue working with our heads down, also because I believe we can still improve a lot ».

The next commitment for Nicelli jr and Pieri will be the San Marino Rally, scheduled for 8 and 9 July. –
