No wind, the regatta canceled. Luna Rossa is back in the race tomorrow

The calm stops Luna Rossa. In fact, today, Sunday 14 March, there is no America’s Cup. The absence of wind led the organizers to cancel the regattas for today, after many postponements of the starting time. Luna Rossa and Te Rehutai will return to the racing field on Monday 15 March for the seventh and eighth regattas. The weather forecasts for tomorrow and Tuesday are favorable with sufficient wind to guarantee the competition, which will resume at 4 am Italian time. At the moment the challenge is tied, with the two boats at 3-3.

Before making a decision, the organizers took all the time required by the regulation in cases like these, postponing the departure time by the minute, in the hope that the wind would rise from 4-5 knots on average to 6.5. which is the minimum to be able to start the regattas. But there was nothing to do, and at 6 pm local time, 6 am in Italy, they decided that it was enough for today.

Luna Rossa and Te Rehutai were towed by the tugs to the port, leaving thousands and thousands of fans disappointed waiting for the new challenge between the two boats. As in recent days, hundreds of boats of all kinds have in fact crowded around the race course to closely follow the battle between the two jewels of technology developed by the Prada Pirelli team and Emirates New Zealand.

For Monday the weather forecasts are positive, in fact they indicate a possible wind of 10-12 knots coming from the north-east. It starts from the score of 3-3 tomorrow, at 4 Italian time.
