With a bloody mouth, Nordi Mukiele headed towards his bench with the clear ambition of entering the field again. It must be said that the match had just started, barely eight minutes of play, and that the 26-year-old Parisian defender had not lingered too much on the ground. But the PSG medical staff saw fit to declare him “unfit”, as required by the concussion protocol, and surely as a precaution.
Mukiele, for his part, shared broad signs of discontent with the public and his staff, while Luis Enrique gave Achraf Hakimi, who was going to replace him, some instructions. Mukiele debated with the medical staff who had taken care of him, but the decision was made definitively: he would not continue the meeting. Neither his exchanges with PSG football advisor Luis Campos, who came down close to the bench, nor with the other members of the staff, changed anything.
This decision comes a week after another similar case, that of Kiki Kouyaté. Defender of Montpellier, he went out for the same reasons last week in Le Havre, and ended up withdrawing from this Sunday’s match against Lorient.
