Jarl Magnus Riiber is crowned “King of Combiners” in Seefeld. The Norwegian also won the third race of the “Nordic Combined Triple” tour.

Due to strong winds, the jumping could not take place on Sunday (February 4th, 2024) in Seefeld. The provisional passage from Thursday was used as the basis for the cross-country skiing. The Norwegian dominator Jarl Magnus Riiber won with 112.5 meters.

Riiber was also the hunted on the third day of the “Nordic Combined Triple” in Seefeld. But his lead over the Austrian Johannes Lamparter was only 18 seconds. The Norwegian kept the pace high right from the start and continued to expand his lead and confidently took his victory to the finish line. With his third victory in Seefeld, the eight-time world champion also secured the title of the “Nordic Combined Triple” tour.

Exciting fight for second and third places

An Austrian duel took place behind Riiber – Lamparter and Stefan Rettenegger, the shooting star of the triple, were neck and neck for a long time. But then Lamparter crashed and lost time. The Norwegian Jörgen Graabak took advantage of the moment and fought his way to Rettenegger. On the last lap, the Norwegian mobilized all his strength and passed the Austrian.

Geiger again with an incredible comeback

Many combined skiers had to pay tribute to the cross-country ski trail – the 12.5 kilometers were exhausting due to the soft, deep cross-country ski trail. But one person was not impressed: Vinzenz Geiger, who was wearing the red jersey of the strongest runner, and again – like the day before – showed an impressive comeback. From 21st place they moved up to sixth place. The Olympic champion was also the best German.
