The second match of the semifinals of the Clausura tournament of the National League of Honduras is set to take place today in Juticalpa. Olancho FC and Génesis FC will face off in the second leg of the playoffs.
Génesis FC currently holds the advantage on the scoreboard after securing a 1-0 victory in the first leg with a goal from Paraguayan Roberto Moreira at the Carlos Miranda stadium in Comayagua.
The final outcome will be decided today at the Juan Ramón Brevé Vargas stadium at 4:00 pm. Olancho FC will be looking to secure a ticket to the semifinals in front of their home crowd, while Génesis FC aims to reach their second consecutive semifinal.
Génesis FC needs only a draw or another victory to advance, while Olancho FC must win by a two-goal difference to avoid elimination. If the score ends with a goal difference in favor of Olancho FC, the qualifier will be decided by penalties with no extra time.
Meanwhile, Marathón, the leader of the regular rounds of the Clausura tournament, awaits the winner of today’s match in Juticalpa to determine their semifinal opponent. The first match of the semifinals is already set, with Olimpia facing off against Motagua.
