The Paralympic Track and Field Marathon is divided into 8 groups: wheelchair group (male/female), vision group (male/female), hearing group (male/female) and physical group (male/female), starting from 8:30, The wheelchair group and other groups set off from the Caotan Park Sculpture Plaza in two batches and rushed to the end of their dreams along the scenic river embankment road.
In order to ensure the smooth progress of the event, the Paralympic Games Marathon Competition Committee provides one-to-one reception to participating athletes. Before the competition, the buses arriving and leaving the stadium were barrier-free, and teachers of the Disabled Persons’ Federation were invited to train volunteers in other aspects such as sign language to ensure effective communication with the contestants.
During the race, barrier-free toilets were set up along the track, and a 30-meter soft isolation was set up at the track turning point to prevent contestants from colliding at the turning point due to excessive speed and to ensure the safe completion of the race.
In addition, a medical station is set up every 2.5 kilometers on the track, and each medical station is equipped with an ambulance, and a total of 17 ambulances are deployed. There are 60 mobile AEDs along the track, and one medical observer is set up every 250 meters along the track, for a total of 74, to fully protect the safety and health of the athletes.
