Pietro Fusco is the new director of Cavese – Sport

Pietro Fusco is the new sporting director of Cavese, made official just a dozen hours after Sambenedettese had communicated to the press the termination of his contract with the rossoblu club, therefore the aquilotta company was able to announce the agreement with the manager native of Naples to which the president Massimiliano Santoriello has given the task of setting up the squad. The contact began a month ago and has materialized in the past few hours in the agreement, which will see Fusco be operational from 1 July; Mariano was also in contention until recently to become the sports director of the Metelliani Fernandez, but the president’s final choice fell on Fusco. «I am happy and honored that the Santoriello family has chosen me for a new technical project. I hope to be able to repay this trust and to bring joy back to the fans », are the first words that the new director of Cavese has officially released through the channels of the Metellian club. Pietro Fusco also boasts a past as a footballer in all categories from D to Serie A: after his beginnings in the Napoli youth teams as a striker he moved to Lanciano, then to Castel di Sangro, and there he began to play as a side defender; then he was at Empoli in the top flight, at Lucchese, Catania, breaking latest news, Spezia, Carrarese and finally returned to Liguria to finish his career as a player in the 2008-2009 season in Serie D (with Marco Rossi, current coach of Hungary and former Cavese coach as coach). After playing football, Fusco began to be a coach, as a deputy in the first team, and then led the youth teams of the Eaglets of Liguria, then he became the coordinator of the La Spezia nursery; later he studied to become a sports director and took up the position in 2016 with La Spezia, then moved to Sambenedettese in 2018, where he replaced the one who would later become Cavese’s director, Francesco Lamazza.
Soon Cavese will also have to fulfill the registration to the Serie D championship, therefore the director will sketch his technical project, which will have to provide as a technical manager a profile that is sufficiently prepared on the D championship and the pitfalls that it entails. In this sense Giuseppe Ferazzoli, currently at the helm of Gelbison, remains the coach who could be of interest to the Aquilotta company but it is a name that will be made only after the Valais have closed the season. And just about the D series, Cavese has a triple option as regards the groupings: group G (Lazio-Sardinian), group H (Apulian-Lucanian) and group I (Calabrian-Sicilian).
