Pordenone, in Vicenza the last resort to try and hope

Morale is under the heels after the four defeats. The effects of the January makeover are wearing off

PORDENONE. The defeat with Monza may have left its mark. It was the fourth in a row and matured after a very weak performance, which knocked down even the most optimistic. Pordenone, however, must try not to sink further, trying to recover and react: in front of him he has a clash that can still keep him alive. On Saturday, in fact, the neroverde team will play against Vicenza, in a last resort challenge: in the match scheduled at 2 pm at Menti they can hook up their rivals at 15 and, therefore, continue to hope to hook up the play-outs.

It is clear that on paper the undertaking is difficult, because if on the one hand he will not face the illustrious ex Davide Diaw, disqualified after the “red” remedied with the Cremonese, on the other hand he will face a team in health, which in the eight games played in 2022 he has lost only twice and is back from four draws. One must still maintain a pinch of optimism, even at a time when it is easier to let go.

The match against Monza, but also the meeting with Reggina last Saturday, highlighted the considerable technical and psychological difficulties of the team. Once the initial enthusiasm due to the many changes in January disappeared, the limits of the group emerged little by little. Cambiaghi seems to be the only one to turn on the light and you don’t see a hint of personality within the lineup.

Connected to this, it is not so much the team’s counter-performance that makes us think, but the development of the game by the opponents: the amaranth al Granillo did the bare minimum and won, the Brianza instead played at the accelerator’s edge, scoring four goals and touching three others.

Moreover, just in relation to the match against Monza, they did not even convince some technical-tactical choices and, in particular, of men. It has probably been decided to carry out some turnover in view of Saturday’s direct confrontation. Only once, during this season, Pordenone had lost four games in a row: it had happened at the very beginning of the competitive year, when first with Massimo Paci and then with Massimo Rastelli on the bench the green lizards had fallen with Perugia, Spal, Parma. and Cittadella.

It goes without saying that Bruno Tedino and his staff had never stumbled upon a series like this, on the contrary: two consecutive knockouts, for example, always had an answer. Everyone is expecting a signal with Vicenza. The climb is quite steep, but the calendar gives you the chance to stay standing.
