Pordenone presents mister Di Carlo, aiming to return to Serie B in two years

The first official press conference of the coach at the De Marchi center. The neroverdi have won 9 of the last 60 races: now we need to change gear

PORDENONE. Domenico Di Carlo’s big day has arrived. At the De Marchi center, the new Pordenone coach will be presented to the press and fans. The coach, born in 1967, enthusiastically accepted the challenge proposed by the Lovisa family, that is, to bring the neroverdi back to Serie B over two seasons. It will not be easy, because he will have to transmit a winning mentality again to the environment, depressed after the last year and a half.

Since January 2021, in fact, out of 60 championship races, the green lizards have won only 9, of which only 3 in the previous cadet tournament. 15 matches were drawn, while 36 matches were lost: practically more than 1 out of 2.

A really negative average, so much so that last season the team beat the negative record of points for a group of 20 teams among cadets (18 points in all). It can be understood that the coach will have to roll up his sleeves from the first day of work on the pitch and put a lot of his own into it to restore enthusiasm to the players and to the square, with the latter having not yet digested (and will hardly digest) the fact. to still have to follow – at least for the first of the tournament – the team in Lignano.

However, Di Carlo is not lacking in enthusiasm, this was already sensed in the course of his first interview with the club’s press office. He will also have from him the same desire for redemption that animates the property not accustomed to lining up so many negative results. In Vicenza, in fact, during his last experience, the coach was sacked after five defeats in the first, as many, league games.

It was September 2021 and he had lost with Spal. The Venetians were last in the standings alone, one point behind Pordenone which had just equalized its first game of the season (with Reggina). Previously Di Carlo had been able to win the Serie C and save himself early among the cadets. His last match won in the championship dates back to 10 May 2021 (2-1 at Menti with Reggiana).

The new wind that will blow will certainly be good for the Pordenone environment, which will look forward to taking the field for the first match of the championship. In this regard, the president of the Lega Pro Ghirelli declared that the opening of the 2022-’23 tournament has been set for Sunday 28 August.

All matches, barring unforeseen changes, can be followed on the Eleven Sports platform, while some races will be broadcast on Sky Sport every weekend. Rai Sport, on the other hand, will broadcast a couple of challenges every weekend.
