Pordenone-Spal and the strange intersection between Tedino and Zamuner

by admin

The Neroverdi coach and the Emilian sporting director laid the foundations of the team in 2015, then moved up to B

PORDENONE. There was an excellent working relationship between the two. Together, with the coach on the sideline and the manager behind the desk, they brought the team back into Lega Pro one step away from Serie B. But not only. They are also linked by friendship and great mutual esteem. Pordenone-Spal, scheduled for tomorrow in Lignano, will be the match between Bruno Tedino and Giorgio Zamuner, respectively the Friulian technician and the Emilian sporting director, paired between the green lizards in 2015-2016.

That of Teghil will be their first competition as opponents among the cadets. Since that tournament, the two have faced each other only in the two matches of the next tournament. However, they have always maintained contacts. Peers: – born in 1964 -, both from Veneto, they have known each other for a lifetime. At the end of the 90s, the current biancazzurro manager still played in the C1 series, the lizard coach had started training in C2: Sandonà first (’97 -’98), Novara then (’98 -’99) before going down to the Interregionale in Pordenone, a square where the two found themselves in the summer of 2015 after exchanging opinions and thoughts related to football for years, also because Zamuner – while Tedino continued to coach – had embarked on a career as an agent .

Between the two at De Marchi it all began after Zamuner himself, in the winter of 2015, was identified by the club president Mauro Lovisa as a market consultant: in the summer of the same year the new manager chose Neroverde Tedino, a veteran, for the bench. from two years of experience with national youth teams.

Together they found the key to make Pordenone fly, leading it to where it had never gone in almost a century of history. Zamuner brought players such as Stefani, Pasa, Pederzoli, Mandorlini, De Cenco, Strizzolo to the banks of the Noncello: elements to relaunch which, in the hands of Tedino, centered second place in group A of Lega Pro and the play-off semifinal with Pisa Gattuso. That group thrilled Bottecchia to the sound of good play and results. And the team embarked on a journey that continues to this day.

The work did not go unnoticed, so much so that in June 2016 Zamuner was chosen by Padua to fill the role of general manager. The technician, on the other hand, remained among the lizards for another competitive year. And he challenged his “old” right arm twice, beating him on both occasions (4-3 at Euganeo, 1-0 at Bottecchia). Since then no crossroads, despite the coach’s experiences in Palermo and Entella and at Padua and Spal (where he has been working since June 2020) of the market man.

The couple only touched in the autumn of 2020: Tedino was exonerated from the guide of the Ligurians a week before the match with Spal. Seeing each other tomorrow will also mean remembering that championship we spent together, those goals achieved that launched Pordenone into a new dimension in Italian football. And many fans, of the work done by the two, are well aware of it.
