Prata in celebration, flags and trumpets in front of the big screen: the Tinet is in the A2 series of volleyball

Throughout the town in the square, the parish priest rang the bells

PRATA DI PORDENONE. The big screen in Piazza Meyer yesterday not only brought luck, but it proved to be an extra weapon to push the team and so after the party for the Italian Cup, the community of Prata di Pordenone celebrated the promotion of the volleyball team in series A2. At 20.10 the party bells rang. Don Pasquale Rea had planned them.

They began to resonate while in Piazza Wanda Mayer the notes of “We are the champion” by Queen and “Prata is on fire” were heard, that is the adaptation of the famous commercial success of the Milanese singer (but transplanted to New York for many years) Gala.

The day of celebration and joy, that of Sunday 22 May, began very early. The preparations, the flags, the t-shirts characterized everything in the early afternoon. The weather ally from Veneto did not spoil the wait. It rained a few drops, but only after 3pm, then the clear weather returned. All the moves yesterday were designed to openly challenge superstition. In the front row, Don Pasquale Rea, the mayor was on the road to the national meeting of the Bersaglieri. On the other hand, there were many municipal councilors.

However, the exultation was contained. In volleyball you can dominate, but soon after you can stumble. It’s like life: you fall to the ground but then you now have a chance to get back up. As did Tinet Prata on the pitch. Won the second set, also won the third, almost everything suggested that the party could begin. One of the main sponsors Davide Piccinin let himself go to confidence.

Here too the superstition has become a perfect stranger. “We have made up the celebratory jerseys for promotion to Serie A2 – she said – the players have hidden them”. In the only matcpoint, Tinet made a point. And joy broke out.

A party only partially ruined by what happened shortly before at PalaPrata, at the under 17 regional finals: an athlete from the Trieste Volleyball club fell ill. He suffered from tachycardia, perhaps due to competitive stress and the heat. The athlete, who is 16, was transferred to the hospital in Pordenone for a visit. He was discharged after the investigations and finally also participated in the awards.
