Punticino for Atalanta and Inter, Milan tries

Musso denies the goal to Sanchez, Handanovic’s feat on Pessina. Today the Rossoneri, second to two points, host La Spezia

The match was at times a small match, with some flare-ups in the second half. Few emotions, no goals and a little point on each side. The best were Musso and Handanovic: the two goalkeepers. And this speaks volumes.

To be honest, in the first half we didn’t see a performance that matched the ambitions of the two teams. Inter did something more on the offensive front and Musso denied Sanchez the goal. The balance between two teams that fought vehemently dominated the scene. In the second half Handanovic prevented Pessina from scoring. Inzaghi brought in Vidal, Dumfries and Correa. Inter looked more aggressive, but Dzeko missed a favorable opportunity. Handanovicsi is opposed to Muriel. Consequential (and right) zero to zero, despite the final emotions. The draw at Gewiss Stadium, in addition to making Gasperini’s team take a small step forward, who now feels the breath of the pursuers on his neck, could cause the provisional loss of first place at Inter (who played one game less ) to the advantage of Milan, which today hosts La Spezia. The Bergamo players lacked some important owners such as Zapata, Toloi, Gosens, Ilicic, Maslinovskyi and Maehle, but they had lined up Freuler, Koopmeiners and Pessina.

Inzaghi had preferred D’Ambrosio to De Vrij, Dzeko and Darmian to Lautaro and Diumfries. The Gewiss Stadium looked like an icebox to the 5,000 spectators who had access to it. But the atmosphere heated up due to the events of the match. We fought for quite a while in midfield. Atalanta created a couple of dangerous situations in the Inter area, without concluding. Basically crap, until Inter came forward with a header from Dzeko (out). At one point, the game was engulfed in general confusion. Sanchez had a golden opportunity on the center-right, but the prodigious Musso saved. A central header from Pessina was the first (and only) acute Atalantino in the first part of the match. An intervention by Perisic on Pasalic in the area left the people of Bergamo with doubts. For the rest, a great balance, but to the downside in terms of the quality of the game.

The recovery is less soporific. Miraculous Handanovic: with his foot he saved Pessina who, alone in the area, shot without fail. Atalanta seemed more incisive, but only slightly. After an elaborate action by Inter, Dzeko shot from the right, but Musso deflected. Pezzella then anticipated Sanchez on Dzeko’s cross from the left. After Inzaghi’s changes, Inter more incisive Dumfries with his head triggered Dzeko who always put his head high from two steps. Vidal called on Musso. D’Ambrosio did not hit the target. Head Pasalic was countered by Dumfries: out. Muriel won a duel with Bastoni and went away: Handanovic deflected his shot. The same Inter goalkeeper then saved on a double shot from Pasalic. In closing D’Ambrosio missed the target.

They distinguished themselves: Musso salvific on some occasions and Handanovic equally effective in the second half. Omnipresent Perisic. Basically, a game played more with muscles than with technique by the two teams. An evening that said almost nothing new, in the end. The fear of losing has won. –
