Pure Etcr 2021, calendar changed due to Covid

by admin

The French track of Pau-Arnos enters the place of the round scheduled at the Inje Speedium. Impossible to organize the Asian trip for logistical reasons and factors related to the Covid-19 pandemic

The Pure Etcr series for electric touring cars will end its first season in France, at the Pau-Arnos circuit, which in mid-October 2021 will replace the scheduled round in South Korea on the calendar, an event canceled due to effects related to the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, with the various changes to the sporting calendars of the current season due to Covid-19, news or further confirmations are expected regarding the vintage finale of the WRC World Rally planned in Japan, with Monza already registered as a reserve date. .

PURE ETCR: CHANGE THE FINAL

The relocation of the last round of the 2021 season of the Pure Etcr series – in which the Giulia Etcr of Romeo Ferraris, Cupra and Hyundai compete – is official. Between 15 and 17 October, therefore, the Pau-Arnos E-Circuit will replace the event already scheduled at the Inje Speedium in South Korea (dates unchanged). The European facility is located about twenty kilometers from the town of Pau, in the south-west of France, and measures 3,030 km with fixed charging points in the pits for racing with electric cars.

PURE ETCR: FRANCE ENTERS

The replacement is motivated by the organizers of the zero-emission series, promoted by Eurosport Events, due to the logistical impossibility of shipping cars, spare parts and equipment by sea (as in all Pure Etcr championship events) in time for the South Korean event. , given the current situation that also affects transport. To logistical issues are added, in a broader horizon linked to the restrictions due to Covid-19, the uncertain times for the precautionary quarantine measures provided for intercontinental travel. So the calendar of the 2021 season of Pure Etcr, after the rounds already disputed in Vallelunga, Aragon (Spain) and Copenhagen in Denmark, where Romeo Ferraris’ Giulia Etcr won both the overall victory, a double thanks to the results of Philipp Eng and Luca Filippi, will be completed by those at Hungaroring (Hungary, 22 August) and Pau-Arnos (France) on 17 October.

RALLY WRC: THE FINAL?

There is no official news yet, but considering the recent developments also the WRC World Rally Championship could risk undergoing changes to the calendar due to the difficulties in organizing eastern transfers, which have already emerged in other championships. In fact, Japan will not host the F1 GP and Malaysia that of the MotoGP. In the WRC World Championship calendar, the last round of 2021 is scheduled for the weekend of November 14 in the Land of the Rising Sun, with Italy (and the Autodrome of Monza with the neighboring Lombard territory) in particular already inscribed as a reserve date. should any difficulties arise in confirming this timetable. Will the 2021 season therefore end in Brianza and Bergamo as in 2020?
