On Thursday afternoon the 44th edition of the 5 lakes running race was presented at Moma di Ivrea, which will take place on Sunday 26 in Ivrea.
It is an ecotrail, its length is equal to 24.3 km, 440m D +, on a unique track of its kind with a mixed surface that finds, as the athletes pass, asphalt, dirt road, wood and porphyry, it will touch the Municipalities of Montalto Dora, Cascinette, Borgofranco, Chiaverano and Ivrea. The race, which has acquired the double approval of Fidal (Piedmont) and Uisp, avails itself of the collaboration of the Avis Municipal Sports Group of Ivrea. Registrations can be made online on corsa5laghi.it or on wedosport, the maximum number expected at the start is 450 units. The 5 lakes, memorial Giuseppe Giorgio and Fiorella Salussolia, will start from the market square in via circonvallazione in Ivrea at 8.30. The arrival will also be in the market square: «It will be a particular edition – declares Marco Origlia, president of the organizing committee – because in a complicated period in terms of health and society. We will have to respect the recently issued FIDAL protocol for road races which provides, among other things, the mandatory nature of the Green pass or buffer for participants. We have kept the route unchanged, with the first urban part, via Palestro, Stadio della canoa, footbridge on the Dora followed by the climb towards the natural park of the 5 Laghi di Ivrea and the wooded / dirt part of the race with direct arrival from Monte Stella. Last spring – concludes Origlia – the Association La Compagnia dei 5 Laghi, spin-off of the Organizing Committee of the Corsa dei 5 Laghi, made up of members of the Avis sports group of Ivrea. The founding group is made up of 7 people: Maurizio Leone, Marco Origlia, Alberto Campani, Fulvio Migiarra, Davide Vaccarono, Massimo Calvetto and Luisa Marchelli, each one is linked and inserted in the Canavese context, all united by the passion for amateur racing, and the willingness to invest a large part of their free time in voluntary initiatives with social return ». –
