Rai: “There are difficulties, but in Tuscany we expect a strong reaction”

Riso Scotti is expected tomorrow in Cecina (ball at two hours 18) for a redemption after two consecutive defeats, which have removed her from the first place in the standings. The Pavesi worked during the week to be ready for a challenge on a difficult field but from which they absolutely must return with two points.

“We come from a difficult period – attacks Alberto Rai, team manager, former player and coach – we have faced two tough games in a moment of precarious physical condition of some players, which forced coach Di Bella to manage the weekly work”. Rai refers to Sgobba’s right ankle sprain, Donadoni’s back pain that affected him and Corral’s return after a long period of stoppage due to knee problems that hampered his performance.

But now there are two away matches to face: Cecina and Livorno. «Winning in Tuscany is always complicated, whatever team you have to face – explains Alberto – we have already accomplished two feats by conquering Empoli and Piombino, but now we must continue to remedy the home defeats against Legnano and San Miniato. Sunday we go to Cecina, a young team and on paper it seems the easiest away match, but woe to take it lightly. This is demonstrated by the victory against Livorno and the defeat of a single point on the field of Robur et Fides Varese, which is climbing the slope. Looking at Livorno, we will face a contender for the playoff podium and it will be a good test of our ambitions ».

Alberto Rai during the week I followed all the training of Riso Scotti. “I saw the right match and the attitude on the part of the players to resume the play off path – says the manager from Pavia – fortunately we had fewer physical problems than in the last few weeks, despite Alex Simoncelli being forced to a couple of times stop as a precaution. I liked the training sessions and I’m sure that Riso Scotti will show the right attributes in Cecina to win the victory ».

The risk, however, is that two defeats like this also have consequences for Cecina. «True – Rai admits – coach, players and management during the week looked into each other’s eyes and exchanged some ideas. There are no problems and there is total harmony on what the Omnia project is for this season, so we expect an important reaction in Tuscany ».

Riso Scotti will leave tomorrow morning for Cecina, so that after lunch she can rest for a couple of hours in a hotel near the sports hall. –
