Istrana’s 3-3 fatal to the former coach: the Friulian already on the pitch Sandri: “Clear gaps, the players have responsibility”

/ TREVISO

So much thundered that it rained. Yesterday the first training session of the new era of Andrea Zanuttig took place as coach of Treviso. In fact, he is the new Biancocelesti coach who replaces Gianni Migliorini, relieved of his post after Sunday’s 3-3 in Istrana, in which Treviso was 3-0 up to 77 minutes. In general, the Verona coach pays for the fluctuating results obtained in the championship which at the moment sees the biancocelesti 5 points from the top. Zanuttig, born in ’66, met the players yesterday, certainly time is short since Real Martellago arrives on Sunday and it is forbidden to make mistakes.

The former coach of Union Feltre is well aware of this, he is originally from Monfalcone, who returns to Tenni: in the ’88 -’89 season he wore the Treviso shirt in C2, collecting 21 appearances and scoring 2 goals. The Friulian boasts a good career as a midfielder, counting 49 appearances in Serie B with Pistoiese and Lucchese. He grew up in the Inter youth teams, then passing through Mestre, Reggiana, Venice, Treviso, Turris and Alessandria. He closes as a professional in Pisa and leaves football in 2000 after the years with Itala San Marco and Monfalcone. That year he began to coach Ronchi and then reached the Triestina youth sector, where he remained for 5 seasons. He starts again from Ponziana, then driving Vesna, Monfalcone, Virtus Corno, Lumignacco and Chions. The last experience dates back to the end of March, when he took over from Union Feltre, managing to obtain an unexpected salvation in Serie D.

«Having had the opportunity to follow the verdegranata during the lockdown for logistical and friendship reasons, I had already noticed – explains the president of Treviso, Luigi Sandri – having made the necessary investigations and received positive information, the dialogue was opened. He was one of the candidates for our bench also in the summer but he wanted to stay in Serie D. After an in-depth interview we found empathy and the same vision, in particular on the shortcomings of Treviso ». Gaps that for the number one in via Foscolo are very clear: “I saw a team that knows how to manage the ball well but less situations – continues Sandri – the direct responsibility lies with those who go on the pitch and the decision to change the technical guide is due more to an instinctive choice that is in football, that of wanting to attribute responsibility to a coach instead of making other movements. The players, however, have been made aware of their responsibilities ».

At the moment Migliorini is the only one who pays for a difficult moment but Sandri reiterates that everyone is in discussion: «In the meantime, let’s try to straighten the boat so that it goes towards the desirable route. Fortunately, everything can be remedied and in the end the right conclusions will be drawn. At the end of the day, everyone will make their own assessments based on the positions they hold, not just the sports director or the coach ». –
