Registrations for Scarpadoro online end at midnight today, but the possible winners of the male and female rankings of Sunday’s half marathon in Vigevano are Karin Angotti from Garlaschese and Loris Mandelli, Polisportiva Carugate.

The two are not new names, but they have already won the ducal half marathon in the past. Karin Angotti, however, could write an important page of the race, if she were to cross the finish line first she would write her name in the roll of honor for the fourth time, a result never achieved by anyone. Karin Angotti, Milanese by birth and Vigevanese by adoption, marked the recent history of Scarpadoro: always present in the last five editions, she won the Scarpadoro Half Marathon in 2016, 2017 and 2019 and came second in 2018 and 2021. A darling of the home crowd the athlete who runs for the team of president Francesco Zappia and boasts a personal best of 1h21’27 ”set three years ago at the Scarpadoro. Loris Mandelli, athlete from Carugate at Scarpadoro turned out to be three years ago, where he competed for himself and won in an easy 1h10’52 ”. Just in that period, after an excellent career on the track ranging between 1500 and 5000 meters, Mandelli had decided to ‘extend’ the distance managing to obtain excellent results. He boasts a personal best of 1h08’23´´ obtained in Cittadella (Padua) in 2017.

Worth noting is Simona Viola from Avis Pavia, former marathon runner of the Italian national team, aiming for victory in the over 50 category. As every year, the Scarpadoro Half Marathon offers the pacer service guaranteed by the Escape Team Vigevano, Buccella Runners Vigevano and GPG Garlaschese companies. Fifteen runners will mark the rhythm of the participants, helping them to reach their time objectives or simply cheering them on.

These are the pacers according to the chronometric objective indicated on a colored balloon: 1h30´ Marco Giuliani; Alessandro Nembro; Paolo Sample. 1h40 ‘Andrea Lucca; Gianmario Silverio; Marco Pastore. 1h50´ Alessandro Brandalese; Antonella Raiola; Francesco Toti. 2h00´ Moreno Milan; Silvia Malagoli; Stefano Ventura. 2h10 ‘Nicoletta Ganzi; Fabrizio Lazzarin; Simona Defendenti. The starting time of the half marathon will be at 9.15 am, that of the non-competitive ones at 9.30 am. The hymn of Mameli, played before the start of the half marathon, will be sung by the singer and runner Marco Clerici.

The bib can be collected from tomorrow from 2pm to 7pm or Sunday morning from 7.30am to 8.45am at the Village located inside the Dante Merlo stadium.
