Former UNAM goalkeeper Sergio Bernal raises concerns about his health in recent Instagram post
In a recent Instagram post, former UNAM goalkeeper Sergio Bernal hinted at potential health issues, causing a stir among sports media and former players.
In the post, Bernal reflected on his extensive career, stating, “I played more than 500 games, I know what it feels like to win, draw and lose. What I never knew is what it feels like to give up. Now I have a very important game and I will try to win again. I will never give up.”
The post has since been deleted, but it has raised concerns about Bernal’s well-being among fans and colleagues. Bernal, who spent the early part of his career in the shadow of Jorge Campos, also had stints with other clubs such as Correcaminos UAT and Puebla.
Bernal’s last match was on November 28, 2010, in a 2-0 loss against Monterrey at the Tecnológico Stadium. He officially retired from football on December 9, 2010.
The former goalkeeper’s post has sparked discussions about his current state of health, and fans and colleagues are eagerly awaiting an update on his well-being.
