Serie A, the slow motion of the twelfth: all the dubious episodes

by admin

The episode on which it is worth dwelling is staged at minute 20 of the first half and with Torino in attack: a cross from the left involves Singo in the middle of the area controlled by Bastoni who is just behind him. The lateral grenade hits the head and the ball catches the right arm of the La Spezia undergoing a change of trajectory: Bastoni is close but the arm is wide, open, not congruent with the movement. Orsato lets it go, the action continues with Belotti’s shot. But Nasca (Var) calls the referee to the OFR highlighting the suspicious movement and the possible penalty denied. The referee, however, does not retrace his steps and maintains the initial decision despite the arm increasing the volume of the body. The penalty could have been there and the strong doubts for Orsato’s decision remain. The Var, on the other hand, did not recall the referee on two other occasions in the area: at 10 ‘(sloping of the Spezia in the Toro area, Djidji hits with his arm but is covered by Bremer and moved by Bastoni; Orsato is well positioned and sees the whole dynamics of action); at 47 ‘pt, in the La Spezia area, the contact Singo-Amian does not deserve punishments for Orsato even if the player from Spezia harpoons the thigh of the grenade. In the second half (30 ‘), Orsato is severe (even verbally) but by regulation the double yellow in Sanabria and Nikolau is there. The double slap (to Salcedo, in the same action) not sanctioned to Lukic and an interrupted action that sees the same grenade as protagonist in the Ligurian area leave doubts: it seems to tame the ball with the chest and not with the arm.
