Seven medals on the Po for the team of Candia D’oro Lazar, Longo and Iacob

Seven medals, three golds, two silvers and two bronzes, is the loot obtained by the company Canoa Candia last Sunday, February 6, at the first edition of the Turin winter race, a regional canoe competition over the distance of 10,000 and 2,000 m organized by the Turin company of the Cus Torino.

On the waters of the Po river there are three Candiesi canoeists who managed to get on the highest podium of the podium: Madalina Foca in the Junior category completed the 10,000 m course employing 52’21 “77, Taisa Iacob in Cadette A instead came first in the 2,000 m race with the final time of 11’31 ”99. Finally, the third gold came from Patric Lazar in the Boys category, who completed the course stopping the time after 55’56 ”30.

Moving instead to the two silvers, the Candia canoeing club came second both in the Cadet category, thanks to Wolfgang Naretto, and in the Allievi B with Diego Cambursano.

The last two medals then came thanks to as many third places of the couple composed by Matteo Bianco and Emanuele Nicoli in the category Allievi B and Alessandra Longo instead in the Cadets A. In particular, the bronze conquered by Matteo Bianco has an important value for the canoe club from Candia, because Bianco was in his first competition in the category and it was certainly not easy to get on the podium right away.

After this race, the first official one of 2022, now the mind is already at the second seasonal appointment, which will see the Candiese club protagonist again on the waters of the Po in Turin on Sunday 27 February, on the occasion of the inter-regional cross-country competitions over a distance of 5,000 m and canoe young people on the other hand at 2,000 m. To better prepare for the races, training every day. –
