Teenager with Size 23 Feet Receives Generous Donation from Shaquille O’Neal
Adolescents often struggle to find clothes that fit due to growth spurts, but for Jor’el Bolden, this struggle is taken to a whole new level. Born with exceptionally large feet, Bolden requires shoes in US size 23 (size 41 in Mexico), making it nearly impossible to find affordable options in his size.
Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, the 16-year-old took to public television to share his story. To help him afford custom-made shoes, his mother, Tamika Neal, created a GoFundMe account that quickly gained attention across the United States.
The response was overwhelming, with thousands of dollars raised to support Bolden’s unique needs. NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, who could relate to Bolden’s struggles, joined the cause after learning about his story. The two connected virtually, leading to an incredible act of generosity from O’Neal.
In a heartwarming gesture, O’Neal sent three large boxes filled with new clothes and shoes to Bolden’s doorstep. Among the gifts were nearly 20 pairs of size 22 wide-style shoes from O’Neal’s personal collection.
Expressing his gratitude, Bolden called it “better than Christmas morning,” thanking O’Neal for his support. The donation not only provided immediate relief but also included extra funds for future shoe needs. Moved by O’Neal’s generosity, Bolden shared his dream of becoming a professional boxer and expressed his gratitude for the kindness shown to him in his time of need.
