SK Beveren has ended its collaboration with sporting director Tom Van den Abbeele (45). Van den Abbeele had only started working on the Freethiel this summer. This is already the second dismissal in a short period of time in Beveren. Coach Wim De Decker was also thanked earlier for services rendered. The big cleaning has been deployed at SK Beveren. Two weeks after Wim De Decker was fired, Beveren is now also saying goodbye to sporting director Tom Van den Abbeele. The dismissal of the 45-year-old sporting director does not come as a bolt from the blue. The supporters have been criticizing the club’s sporting policy for several weeks. For the fans, Van den Abbeele is mainly responsible for the dramatic season that the Waaslanders are currently experiencing. “We thank Tom for his efforts and wish him every success in his future projects, both on and off the field,” said a short press release on the website.
