Spain’s Artistic Swimming Team is on the brink of qualifying for the Paris Olympic Games in both the team and duet modalities, thanks to their performance in the technical routine. The International Olympic Committee’s classification regulations state that the World Cup in Doha grants five places for the Olympic team competition. With France, Egypt, Australia, China, and Mexico already qualified, five spots are up for grabs in Doha, with the top three teams in the acrobatic, technical, and free modalities earning automatic qualification for their duos.
With the first two modalities already completed, Spain currently sits in second place behind the United States in the virtual classification. However, the final results will be determined after the completion of the third modality on Friday.
In the Olympic duet event, eighteen couples will participate, with the duos from the five qualified countries as well as those from Austria, South Africa, New Zealand, Japan, and the United States confirmed.
The World Cup in Doha will determine the remaining three places for the Olympic duet event, with Spain in contention to secure a spot. The competition is set to conclude on Friday, with the results eagerly anticipated by fans and athletes alike. EFE fa/ism.
