Country music legend Toby Keith has passed away at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. The news was confirmed by his publicist, Elaine Schock, and was also shared on his official website and social media.

Keith’s publicist confirmed that the singer died peacefully on February 5, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Tricia, and his three children, Shelley, Krystal, and Stelen, as well as his mother and two brothers.

The singer revealed his stomach cancer diagnosis in 2022, and despite his health struggles, he continued to perform. In September 2023, he was honored with the Country Icon award at the People’s Choice Country Awards.

Known for his chart-topping hits such as “Red Solo Cup” and “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American),” Keith also made a name for himself as a passionate supporter of the U.S. military. He performed at hundreds of concerts for American troops overseas and was recognized for his dedication by Presidents Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush. He also received the National Medal of Arts from then-President Donald Trump in 2021.

Despite his success and fame, Keith often emphasized that his support for the military was not influenced by politics. In his own words, “There is nothing political about supporting the troops.”
