We have always called them, wrongly, freaks of nature. Freak, like everything in our language, except for the modern Anglicisms that we apply with futurist vehemence to the bignami of work, this formula also comes from Latin. It was pure insensitivity applied to science, used to describe everything that the natural order of things could not explain. As if life were regulated by the principle of creation and its marble linearity; as if the Darwinian evolutionary parables did not know changes in the narrative, divergences of the expected and serendipity of any kind.
