Lennard Kämna is in intensive care after his training accident in Tenerife. According to initial findings, a car took his right of way. Family and team members are with him.

Professional cyclist Lennard Kämna suffered “numerous injuries” in his training accident on Wednesday in Tenerife, but is in a stable condition. This was announced by his Bora-hansgrohe team. “He is awake, responsive and able to communicate. (…) He is receiving very good care in the hospital in Tenerife and will be monitored in the intensive care unit in the coming days. Members of the family and the team are with him,” it said.

According to the German racing team, an oncoming vehicle gave way to Kämna when turning. The 27-year-old from Bremen was with the training group at the time. No other drivers or supervisors were involved in the accident.
