Successful sailing day at Circolo Velico Kaucana

The Italian Sailing Federation, in collaboration with Kinder Joy of moving and its affiliated companies, organizes an initiative every year to promote the culture of the sea and the sport of sailing through the “Sail Day” appointment. An event dedicated to all those who, from the age of six, want to get closer and discover how fascinating this world is. And this time too, the Kaucana Sailing Club has given full and enthusiastic support to the project, organizing, last Sunday, an entire day dedicated to the promotion of sailing. In the days before the event, CVK was present in Punta Secca, on the occasion of the well-attended Faro in Festa event. Welcome guests, in the stand of the club, also the Hon. Giorgio Assenza and the Hon. Stefania Campo, as well as the mayor of Santa Croce Camerina Giuseppe Dimartino. After a widespread promotion, also considering the not entirely favorable weather conditions, the members and the management of the Cvk can be said to be satisfied: despite the uncertain weather, in fact, this year a record attendance was recorded, with over one hundred new members for the event. On Sunday morning the deputy mayor Francesco Dimartino and the president of the municipal council Luca Agnello accompanied the mayor Giuseppe Dimartino to the headquarters of the club and the latter did not fail to appreciate the initiatives of the CVK, highlighting its important social role.

Throughout the morning, the crystalline sea in front of the Kaucana sailing club was dotted with large and small sails that carried enthusiasts and beginners around, driven by a light and warm wind from the south. During the afternoon, the weather conditions they allowed boats to be put in the water, but it was an opportunity for the little ones to participate in a short activity linked to the world of environmental sustainability with particular regard to the marine environment. The number of participants once again confirms that the sport of sailing is constantly growing and promises to become more and more a protagonist in the years to come.
