Argentine Ruth Bravo leads León to a 2-1 comeback victory against Águilas del América
This past Friday, Argentine Ruth Bravo scored the winning goal as León defeated Águilas del América 2-1 in the Clausura 2024 tournament of the Mexican women’s soccer league. Katty Martínez initially put the Águilas ahead, but Bravo and Mayalu Rausch secured the victory for León.
The result propelled León from tenth to fourth place in the standings with nine points, while América remained in third place with 10 points despite the loss.
The game began with an early goal by Águilas, taking advantage of a defensive error by León in the first minute. However, León rallied in the second half, with Bravo scoring the equalizer in the 51st minute, and Rausch securing the win in the 82nd minute.
In other league matches, Rayadas del Monterrey, led by Costa Rican coach Amelia Valderde, beat Cruz Azul 5-0, and Juárez FC secured a 5-1 victory against Santos Laguna. Additionally, Atlas defeated Necaxa 3-2, and Puebla drew 1-1 with Chivas del Guadalajara.
