In the night between Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March 2021 the usual appointment with thedaylight savings time. This means that at 2:00 o’clock there is a snap forward of all the clocks, which will reposition themselves instantly at 3:00. Thanks to the warm season, from here on our days will be much longer and the sunlight will keep us company until late.

needing no help: daylight saving time will start at 2:00 am. In no case they will need to be up early to fix the clocks. As for the classic wrist watches and more generally all analog watches, you can take care of move the hands in advance Saturday night, before going to sleep. The alternative is wait comfortably the next morning once you get out of bed, especially if you don’t have any commitments set for Sunday, under penalty of monstrous delays.
The problem does not arise instead for the electron devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, PCs and tablets, for which the update it will happen automatically without having to lift a finger. In short, you can set the alarm on your mobile phone and sleep peacefully: the alarm will go off at the right time, already calibrated on solar time. The only caution concerns the fact that not all digital devices they are able to regulate themselves: this is the case, for example, of the clock on the oven, microwave or other household appliances, unless they live in a smart home where everything is connected to the network.
How long does the solar hour last?
Summer time will accompany us until the last weekend of October 2021, when it will be the turn of solar time again. Between Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October the hands will have to turn around, going back 60 minutes to align themselves with the light and dark conditions typical of the cold season. The abolition of the exchange ratea, much discussed in recent times, will not be at home even this year in our part: Italy has in fact opted for keep the tradition unaltered, unlike for example what has been decided by France, which will keep the summer time fixed.
