(sda) Yakin and Contini, both born in 1974, worked together once before, namely in the 2011/12 season at FC Luzern. At that time, the Central Swiss team achieved second place in the championship, the second best ranking in the club’s history and made it to the cup final.

As head coach, Contini led Vaduz and Lausanne-Sport into the Super League, and he managed to stay in the league with both clubs. Contini’s last coaching position was the Grasshoppers between 2021 and 2023.

Yakin’s previous assistant, Vincent Cavin, resigned from the position at his own request after 13 years at the end of December. The Vaud native now works in the same role for the US Football Association.
