Taekwondo European Championships: Brandl wins gold

World Cup bronze medalist Lorena Brandl gave the German Taekwondo Union (DTU) its first gold medal at the European Championships in Belgrade.

On the second day of the competition, the 26-year-old from the Tiger and Dragon Altmannstein/Mindelstetten team won the over 73 kilogram class.

On Thursday, Yanna Schneider (Swisttal) and Supharada Kisskalt (Nuremberg) each won bronze at the start. The European Championship in the Serbian capital runs until Sunday.
