Filip Misolic missed victory at the ATP Challenger in Mauthausen. The 21-year-old, who was successful in the semifinals against his Styrian compatriot Sebastian Ofner, was beaten by the Serbian Hamad Medjedovic in the final on Sunday 2:6 7:6 (7/5) 4:6 after several interruptions in the rain.
Medjedovic had the upper hand in two sets against Dominic Thiem in the semifinals. “It was the craziest game of my career. I can’t even describe it. I don’t know how I could win this game,” said Medjedovoc, to pay respects to Misolic: “Filip is a fantastic player.”
