Tennis, Murray returns to training with Lendl

For a historic couple that separates, such as the one made up of Novak Djokovic and the coach of the last 15 years Marian Vajda, there is one that wants to try again. Sir Andy Murray has just announced to the Times that he will return to work with Ivan Lendl. The goal is to be competitive at Wimbledon, the home Grand Slam he has won twice, in 2013 and 2016 as well as the 2012 Olympic title on the same sacred grass.

After parting with Jamie Delgado last December, Andy has never found “peace” on a technical level. Only a couple of attempts, with Esteban Carril and de Witt, but without continuing with the collaboration. Eventually, Andy decided to get back on the path that had led him to clinch his three Grand Slam titles and two Olympic golds: Ivan Lendl. The two had already worked together from 2012 to 2014 and from June 2016 to November 2017. According to reports from the British newspaper, Murray and Lendl will resume working together in Florida, after the Masters 1000 in Miami. The former number 1 in the world will follow the Scotsman for tournaments on the grass, in the meantime Andy will go in search of a coach who can also follow him permanently on the circuit. The Andy Murray of now is almost 35 years old and above all plays with a hip prosthesis. He has received several wild cards in recent tournaments but never achieved good results. In the past, Lendl had helped the Scotsman especially on the mental side, helping him not to give in to his frequent outbursts on the pitch.
