Weekend in piena Milano Woman Fashion Week (February 22-28) which returns full of events in attendance, some even open to the public. In any case, the online offer of all contents, fashion shows and presentations, on the milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it platform, remains an indispensable added value. And in Piazza San Babila the big screen that projects the fashion shows in live streaming returns to dominate. Among the free events: Sunday, at the Luiss Hub space, in the Porta Nuova district, “‘Promenade della Moda” which hosts emerging brands and designers from 12 to 18 is open to the public with free admission. Equally open to the public is Palazzo Gorani, in via Brisa 3, which houses Lineapelle. But the real gem is the exhibition, at Palazzo Crivelli (via Pontaccio 12, 10-13 / 14-18, free admission) of the clothes and accessories – some by Capucci, Dior Vuitton and Mila Schön -, jewels and furnishing objects that belonged to the actress Valentina Cortese, which will then be auctioned on March 1 and 2 2022 and the proceeds donated to the Institute of Pharmacological Research Mario Negri and at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan.
EXHIBITIONS & MUSEUMS
Titian but not only: Giorgione, Lotto, Palma il Vecchio, Veronese, Tintoretto. They are the protagonists of the exhibition “Titian and the image of the woman in the Venetian sixteenth century”Which opens this weekend in Royal Palace (piazza Duomo 12, until 5 June, 10-19.30, Thursday until 22.30, 16 euros, palazzorealemilano.it): one of the most important exhibitions of the season. Composed of about a hundred works of which 47 are paintings (16 by Titian), it tells how the female representation changes and its new importance in the painting of that century: unprecedented.
Always the Royal PalaceThe monographic exhibition that traces the rich and successful production of the Spanish painter is also visible after its inauguration Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida (until June 26) known as the Iberian master of light, a great artist active between the late nineteenth century and the 1920s, very little known to us. To remember Sunday is also the last day to see the exhibition “Magic realism”.
Sunday at Steam Factory the photographic exhibition “Looking beyond – MSF & Magnum: 50 years in the field, between action and testimony” (via Procaccini 4, until 6 March, free admission with reservations required on eventbrite.it) made for 50 years of Doctors Without Borders and composed of 102 shots by 18 photographers, historical photos and new images that tell the main humanitarian crises from 1971 to today.
MUSIC
Saturday last appointment at Blue Note with the great Billy Cobham, unanimously recognized as the most important jazz-fusion drummer in the world for his power and his percussive technique. At 77 he still stands out for creativity, energy and exuberance. On the stage of the Isola club he will be accompanied, as always, by his band: Ulf Wakenius on guitar, Steve Hamilton on sax and Linley Marthe on bass (via Borsieri 37, hours 20.30 / 23, 30/45 euro).
Sunday, again at Blue Note, the Sicilian pianist Sade Mangiaracina he will lead his trio consisting of Marco Bardoscia on double bass and Gianluca Brugnano on drums. Special guest of the evening the splendid voice of Chiara Galiazzo. An event concert, entitled “You deserve a love”, during which some excerpts from the two latest and relevant record works by Sade, widely awarded by critics and published by Paolo Fresu’s Tǔk Music: “Le mie donne” (2018 ) inspired by some important female figures of the twentieth century and “Madiba” (2021) dedicated to the symbol of the struggle for human rights, Nelson Mandela (20.30, 30/35 euros).
Saturday and Sunday Lorenzo Viottione of the most interesting and sought-after conductors on the international scene who achieved unanimous success with the direction of “Thaïs” by Massenet (on stage until March 2), returns for the third time to the podium of the La Scala Philharmonic for the Symphonic Season of the Theater. Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2 (8 pm, 10/95 euro, teatroallascala.org).

Saturday and Sunday Yoga Open Doors, the national event, totally free, organized by Yani, the association of Yoga teachers of Italy. At the “Integral Yoga Shanti” centers in via Morosini and “Yoga Bhadra” in via Bruno, the public will be able to participate in free lessons, conferences, debates, video projections. Saturday and Sunday sweet greedy and comforting weekend: piazza Città di Lombardia hosts Choco Experience (10-23.30, 5 euros), an “all chocolate” festival where you can taste and buy sweet and savory cocoa-based gastronomic specialties, chocolate artisanal products, liqueurs, wines, licorice, sweets and cotton candy. Plus, take part in workshops and cooking shows, with the availability of a children’s area.
CINEMA
The Cinema of the Prada Foundation (viale Isarco 2, 6 euros, ticket not valid for exhibitions, Fondazioneprada.org): two strands on the bill, on Saturday “Investigation” and on Sunday “Origin”. The first is dedicated to the cinematic novelties of the author, and therefore in some way more in the wake of the normal programming in the hall. The second, on the other hand, aligns a series of rare restored works, re-proposed for their historical relevance but also for their bizarreness. We start this Sunday with Paul Schrader’s “Hardcore” from 1979 (5.45 pm) and Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” (8 pm), which will be repeated the following weekend at reversed times. Followed by “Panic in Needle Park” in 1971 with Al Pacino and “Oscar in blood” in 1973 with Vincent Price. The films are all in original subtitled in Italian.
Saturday at MEET (viale Vittorio Veneto 2, 10 am, 15 euros, booking recommended, cinetecamilano.it) second masterclass with Vittorio Storaro. This meeting focuses on the collaboration between the Maestro della luce and Bernardo Bertolucci.
And speaking of recovered rare films: the MIC (viale Testi 121, 6.5 euros, cinetecamilano.it) Sunday proposes a “All Diabolik”: Not only the latest film by the Manetti brothers (7.30 pm) but above all the historical one, from 1968, directed by Mario Bava (3.30 pm): a real rarity.

Sunday theSnai La Maura Racecourse (via Lampugnano 95, 12-18, free admission) opens the gates both to attend the first races of the horse racing season (it runs on Encat Grand Prix) and to offer a special Sunday leisure corner for the little ones. Who from 3 to 13 years old can have the “baptism of the saddle“Riding the ponies of the Lombard Equestrian Center and have fun in a play area with Harry Potter themed animations. On the sidelines, for parents, there is also an exhibition of vintage cars.
