BOLLENGO
With the “2 days of the sea” in Marina di Massa the 2022 season of para-cycling kicked off and, unmissable, among the protagonists there were also the Canavese athletes: the bollenghino Fabrizio Topatigh, Mattia Lirangi from Rivarolo Canavese, Enrico Scattolini ( originally from Barbania) and Marco Catania from Chivasso.
No victory and no podium for the four athletes but as always, so much satisfaction at the end of the two tests (in line and time trial). In the MC2 category Topatigh (Active Team La Leonessa) placed 7th in the combined, thanks to the two eighth places in the two tests; in MH2 Lirangi (Sportabili Alba) 10th both in the final classification and in the road test (9th in time trial); in MT1 Scattolini 7th both in the two tests and in the global classification and Catania (Sportabili Alba) 23rd in the MH3 category. “The result, especially when age begins to make itself felt as in my case, takes a back seat, especially if you are well, among friends and you can practice your sport – comments Topatigh -: I then had the good fortune to meet Samuele Manfredi , a promising young cyclist whose career was interrupted by a training accident that I see today forced into a wheelchair. We chatted, he liked the environment, he was curious and I really think he will be with us shortly, getting back into the game in cycling. Involving, it would be the greatest success for all of us ». –
