On May 29, the “National Fitness and Benefiting the People” Ceremony and the “Fun Games” in Linpu Town were held in Linpu Gymnasium, Xiaoshan, and the newly renovated “Soft Cube” was officially opened to the public.
Linpu Gymnasium, located in the core of Linpu Town, is a comprehensive gymnasium with a total construction area of more than 24,000 square meters. After the upgrade in December 2019, the hardware and software facilities have been greatly improved. For hosting the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games judo, jiu-jitsu and jiu-jitsu events, it is known as the “Soft Cube”. After the postponement of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Linpu Gymnasium was officially opened to the public on May 29 in accordance with the requirements of “one policy for one game, one policy for one venue”, and it was also the first Asian Games venue in Xiaoshan to be opened to the public.
According to Zhang Fei, a member of the Linpu Town Party Committee, the first opening of the Linpu Gymnasium is the deputy hall, which will be used as a badminton court. The opening hours are from 6 am to 9 pm every day, and the free time period is from 6 am to 8 pm. Citizens can make an appointment on the spot, or call 0571-82483390 to make an appointment. After the trial operation conditions are mature, Linpu Gymnasium will open more sports areas and launch a small program to facilitate citizens to reserve venues.
The reporter learned that, in addition to Linpu Gymnasium, other major Asian Games venues in Xiaoshan District will also open in the near future. Among them, the deputy hall of Guali Cultural and Sports Center plans to open 6 badminton courts and 1 basketball court in June; the runway of the Xiaoshan District Sports Center Gymnasium will be open to the public; the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium and Training Hall are planned to be selectively opened to the public. On the basis of taking protective measures and improving related functions, find suitable sites for renovation and gradually open them to the public.
