BMW motorcycle introduces to the market a new electric vehicle for cities, the BMW CE 02, thus consistently following its electric mobility strategy, two years after the launch of the CE 04. The new BMW CE 02 is winning the hearts of young people with its unique identity that goes beyond traditional motorcycles or electric scooters. This eParkourer was specially designed for city life and the urban environment. Its agility, practicality and robustness are combined with an essential design. The wide wheels meet the requirement for durability and at the same time ensure driving fun on various terrains. The black frame, wheels, front fender and triple clamp upper fairing form an exciting contrast to the matt granite gray metallic of the bonnet, creating a fascinating interplay between matt and high-gloss surfaces. In the special HIGHLINE version, the new CE 02 comes with a lively and colorful style, certainly outside the box.
I am Two performance variants are available to meet different needs. The bikers of 16 years can drive the new CE 02 with a maximum power of 11 kW (15hp). The version from 4 kW (5 hp) (rated at 3.2 kW (4 hp)), limited to 45 km/h, meets the class requirements AM patents, allowing motorcyclists to ride it from the age of 15, including those who have a car driving license. Each country has specific additional regulations. Thanks to the powerful drivetrain, the 11 kW version of the new CE 02 can accelerate quickly at traffic lights, providing a dynamic driving experience. With a maximum speed of 95 km/h and a range of more than 90 km (11 kW version according to the WMTC cycle), the CE 02 is ready for extended urban adventures. Also, with a low weight of only 132 kg (11 kW version) or 119 kg (4 kW version) and a seat height of just 750 mm, the new CE 02 scores points with its playful handling.
The new BMW CE 02 is equipped with driving modes designed to simplify the driving experience. The “Flow” and “Surf” modes are included as standard. The “Flow” mode offers an optimal setting to move easily in urban traffic, ensuring a smooth and relaxed drive. On the other hand, the “Surf” mode offers a dynamic and exciting driving experience, perfect for tackling more open roads outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Also, the “Flash” driving mode it is available as a sporty and dynamic option in the HIGHLINE optional equipment and as an Original BMW Motorrad Accessory, for those looking for an even more adrenaline-pumping experience.
It is standard including an external charger with a charging power of 0.9 kW, which allows you to recharge quickly and conveniently from normal household sockets. For further acceleration of the charging process, a quick charger with a charging output of 1.5 kW is available as an optional extra in the HIGHLINE optional equipment and as an Original BMW Motorrad Accessory (only for the 11 kW version).
Il robust double-ring tubular steel frame guarantees a rigid and resistant structure. The telescopic forks, equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers, ensure stable driving in the front, while in the rear we find a single-sided swingarm and a direct-pivot shock absorber. Wide tires are mounted on light-alloy wheels with a sporty design, while i disc brakes, both front and rear, ensure safe deceleration. Furthermore, the CE 02 is equipped with BMW Motorrad ABS for more safety when braking.
The new BMW CE 02 offers a easy to read TFT display which provides the driver with essential information such as driving speed and battery charge status, etc. Also, there is a USB-C charging socket which allows you to conveniently power a smartphone. Thanks to the use ofapp BMW Motorrad Connected, your smartphone will show you the estimated time for charging to complete via the Bluetooth connection, as is the case on the BMW CE 04. In the HIGHLINE version, the cradle mode allows the BMW Motorrad app to be used safely as an additional display via the holder for handlebar-mounted smartphone. Furthermore, the app offers you the possibility to log your trips. Thanks to the BMW Motorrad Connected Services (also included in the HIGHLINE package), you can access the charging status and other information about the CE 02 vehicle at any time and from anywhere via the app.
It is expected that the new BMW CE 02 will be available from the beginning of 2024. The official price will be communicated later, but it is estimated to be around 8,750 euros for the 11 kW version and 7,750 euros for the 4 kW one.
