President Picchi, what is the balance of this final eight?
«Fortunately, ours was a very long, intense and exciting weekend. Then I always love these moments in which the contact with the group intensifies, even in the dead moments in the hotel, it is an aspect of life in the locker room that I really like. The most important match in our history was played on Sunday. It was one of the rare occasions in which a defeat is lived only with joy and happiness, without any regrets ».
What are the main technical indications to take away from Pesaro?
For a couple of months now, the team has certainly achieved a clear identity and balance, thanks to the work of the players and the coach. It has been seen in several games in which we had to overcome the defections in turns of various players, reaching the high and very constant level of performance even when the victory did not arrive. However, as Ramondino himself said, the Pesaro event was beautiful but the season is far from over. We don’t have to run the risk of a drop in tension because we haven’t even achieved mathematical salvation. There are 11 games to play, when we confirm the category we will think of other objectives ».
Did you have the desire to organize the Italian Cup in Tortona, in the future Cittadella dello Sport?
«The final fight has always been one of the best moments in Italian basketball. It is clear that one of the dreams for the Gavio family and for Derthona will be to host events of this level, when the Citadel is ready. For the whole territory it would be something beautiful: what we can do to make our city even more protagonist, we will do it with all possible efforts and commitment ».
For the Coppa Italia, the capacity returned to 60%.
«During the award ceremony of the Cup, it was said that it was an event that brought back optimism and normality, with side initiatives that make basketball a sport for the public, which have been denied in recent months. We hope that the championship will always be accompanied by the presence of the fans.
