11 Chinese wrestling teams secure spots in Paris Olympics

According to the World Wrestling Federation’s official website, the top three wrestlers in each level of the world qualifying competition were guaranteed Olympic tickets. The intense competition saw Chinese wrestlers Habila Awusa Yiman and Zou Wanhao fight their way back into contention after facing defeat in earlier rounds.

Yiman, competing in the men’s freestyle wrestling 97kg category, secured his Olympic spot by defeating his opponents in the bronze medal match and Olympic qualifying play-off. Meanwhile, Wanhao, who competed in the men’s freestyle wrestling 57kg category, fought his way to victory by winning the bronze medal and qualifying for the Olympics.

With the allocation of seats for the wrestling events in the Paris Olympics now complete, the Chinese team has secured a total of 11 Olympic spots. These spots are spread across various weight categories in both men’s and women’s freestyle wrestling, as well as men’s classical wrestling.
