The guys from Casorate are the surprise of the Amateurs at 7 At the top and still unbeaten

The “Rinascimento Caffè” leads the group standings with 20 points, no defeat, 34 goals scored and 18 in the passive “We too can hardly believe it”

casorate first

They decided to join the CSI championship to have fun and because they are a good company of friends, first of all off the pitch. They had no particular plans or dreams of glory. But now they are at the top of the Open championship standings at 7 and almost find it hard to believe it too. They are the boys of the Renaissance Caffè, all from Casorate Primo and emigrated to Besate for training and matches. In fact, they had to rent the field of the Libero Sport club, where Sporting Emmebi and Casorate Calcio a 7 also play, playing in the same championship. The adventure of the Renaissance Cafè therefore began just this year, when this company of friends – some also played in Fgci, others had stopped – decided to test their goliardic spirit even in the same team. Without president and without a coach with a license, the group of fourteen elements (of an average age younger than most of the other teams) is self-taught and studies schemes and tactics in the only weekly training session, on Wednesday evening.

«I think we are the only team to train so rarely – comments Simone Torrini, the pivot of the defense, who plays and has a license – but we didn’t want to overload ourselves because our spirit is just to have fun. We told each other from the beginning: our goal is first and foremost to feel good together. We are certainly very happy with our performance on the pitch and I must admit that now we are beginning to believe in it too. Let’s say we would like to finish the championship in the first three, then we’ll see the rest ».

Rinascimento Caffè leads the ranking with 20 points, no defeat, 34 goals and only 18 conceded. Among the prominent elements are the veteran Giovanni Fabbi (captain with jersey n.10), the top scorer Loris Marino and the goalkeeper Filippo Gemma. And just this week the excellent midfielder Antonio Diurno arrived. All are under the orders of Davide Sacchi. And he himself, together with bomber Marino and Diurno, takes care of a very precise and also followed Instagram page (csi.casura).

the perfect match

Last Sunday the team played a practically perfect match against Parasacco (second in the standings) who was literally annihilated within the friendly walls: the match ended 2-5. “This year the championship seems very competitive to me – continues Torrini – apart from the defeat against us I believe that Parasacco will give us a lot of trouble and also Casorate Calcio a 7 is an excellent formation”. On Sunday at 3 pm in Besate the Renaissance will face off against the Polisportiva Miradolese and the Casorate-Parasacco clash is expected to follow. –
