Stefano Bosio is the clear example that talent and class can shine even in the fields of the minor categories. The 26-year-old playmaker-goalscorer from San Martino is experiencing a season as a true star with the Frigirola shirt, a club from Pavia that sails in second place in the first category, 6 points away from leaders Casteggio. The number of goals, 16, only partially describes Bosio’s impact on Frigi’s amazing year. «Here there is an ever-present club, a coach who makes us have fun, and a wonderful group has been created. In January, some Promotional clubs looked for me, but I made a commitment to Frigirola and I want to keep it. We are aiming for second place, behind Casteggio, with the ambition of going up to the Promotion through the playoffs », declares Bosio, who tasted great football as a kid. Approaching the ball at an early age: “I was already playing in the Thunderbolt when I was 4, my dad was part of the club”, Bosio experienced a prestigious youth process, divided between Pavia, Inter and Brescia. “I only spent one year as a whole, then I moved to Brescia, between the ages of 16 and 18, in the Berretti team.” Bosio’s qualities do not go unnoticed, so much so that OltrepoVoghera, at the time in Serie D, bought him. «There was Balestra captain and Visca the coach. I was playing as a full-back, because there was a tendency to put young people in that role. I played a few games, then due to arguments with some teammates, the club threw me at the door in December, so I moved to Lomellina, in Promotion, where we won the championship. Let’s say I did some stupid thing, but it’s part of my character. Maybe, if I had been silent, my career would have taken another path. “

The disappointment of having missed an important train does not leave Bosio indifferent: «When in football, you are given a name, then it is difficult to take it off and certain doors begin to close. Even Lomellina released me at the end of the summer market, so I decided to leave from San Martino, in the second category, for the sake of playing with friends from my country. Then I had two years of life experience abroad and on my return I started again in Chignolo ».

«The fact that I’m scoring so much is thanks to my teammates. Here at Frigi there is a united group. At the beginning we were little considered, today everyone respects us ». Bosio’s desire is to take back those categories that he has only touched upon: «Now I’m focused on the Frigirola. Then, it is clear that the ambition is to get as high as possible », says the playmaker from San Martino, who works as a welder and is also busy attending evening school to graduate.
