The restart is getting closer and closer, but there are still many unknowns

by admin

On the 30th with the recoveries, except for twists, away to the championships stopped due to virus. Medical visits, no vax footballers and protocol for young people are the big puzzles

UDINE. Amateur football is wondering about its future. There are still many unknowns in view of the restart set for January 30th with the recoveries and for February 6th with the championships that will stage the first day of the second round.

At the moment, however, there is no further hypothesis of activity slippage.
The great doubt that binds the clubs, in view of the restart, is that linked to the “return to play” or the period of time that must elapse from the negativization of a player with a positive result to the date in which he can carry out the new medical examination to return to field.

The 30 days now foreseen by the protocol appear to be actually excessive with the National Amateur League which, in these hours, is considering the hypothesis of reducing the distance between the two events to 7 days. This is a problem that affects the clubs that compete in the Promotion Championships, First and Second category, given that Excellence is considered of national interest since the beginning of the season.

For the teams of the highest regional category, as well as for the D series, a negativized athlete has in fact the immediate possibility to repeat the medical examination that certifies his complete recovery. The sore point, which unites all the categories, is then that of the search for a medical facility that, given the pandemic moment, can guarantee the execution of the visit in a short time.
Net of medical examinations, many teams will have to deal, for the restart, even with their athletes who have chosen not to get vaccinated. Impossible for them, at the moment, to take the field not only for official matches, but also for training.

Although the companies, for the sake of privacy, do not disclose the number of unvaccinated players within their teams, it is clear how different they have to deal with this “problem” deriving from the fact that, from 10 January last, it can fall into camp, from the age of 12, only those who are vaccinated or cured of the disease itself. This is a point that risks making the restart of youth activity very complicated, with many parents who could opt for abandoning their children’s sporting activity to avoid vaccination.

From Rome they let it be known that, also for the point in question, there could be some news, or with the possibility, up to the age of 18, to allow children to take the field only by exhibiting the negative result of a swab carried out in the previous 48 hours .
