The Pavia Tennis Club is confirmed at the top of the Male Veterans Championships. In recent seasons, the San Lanfranco club has in fact obtained 6 league titles, the first four in Over 55 and with the victory obtained in this last weekend on the home fields for the second consecutive year it confirms itself as Italian champion in over 60 teams . “We played with the same group of the past years, Salvatore La Porta, Fabio and Silvano Pozzi, Raffaello Putti with the addition of Giovanni Lelli Mami who completed the team”, explains the historic maestro of the Pavia Tennis Club Nando Cavalleri, member of the winning and multi-award winning team throughout his playing career in individual and team leagues. On the first day, Tc Pavia beat team B of Friends of Tennis Ronchi by 2-1 thanks to the singles successes of Giovanni Lelli Mami (6-0, 6-2) on Federico Lenzi and Fabio Pozzi on Michelangelo Troysi ( 6-1, 6-0). Defeat at the tie-break in doubles for the duo Cavalleri-Silvano Pozzi for 3-6, 6-2, 4-10. On the second day, Tc Pavia beat the Ancona Tennis Club 3-0 with the singles successes of Giovanni Lelli Mami on Andrea Bolognesi (6-0, 6-1) and Silvano Pozzi on Roberto Occhipinti (6-1, 6-0) and in doubles by the pair Putti-La Porta for 6-3, 6-3. 3-0 final for Pavia in the third day against Sporting Sassuolo. Winning score for 6-0, 6-2 by Giovanni Lelli Mammi on Adriano Basso, affirmation by Nando Cavalleri on Emanuel Manfredini with a double 6-4 and point of Tc Pavia also in doubles with Fabio Pozzi-Putti for 6-4, 6 -2 on Basso Mussi. The Pavia Tennis Club therefore became the Italian champion, confirming the title conquered in 2020 always in the Over 60 category, establishing itself with full points, with 6 points in the final quadrangular in front of Amici del Tennis Ronchi, Sporting Sassuolo and Tennis Ancona all at odds 2. –
