The Venetian volley also stops. We return to the field at the end of the month

by admin

The regional Fipav has decided to postpone all the championships. The women’s A3 and B2 go ahead but the races of Da Rold and Belluno have already been skipped

Regional volleyball also stops in the face of the growing number of infections. The Veneto committee of Fipav (the Italian volleyball federation) yesterday decided to suspend all the matches of the Serie C and D championships (as well as the Coppa Veneto) until January 23 inclusive, “following the increase in infections recorded in the last days and the numerous requests for postponement of tenders due to positivity to Covid-19 “.

Today and tomorrow, therefore, no Bellunese volleyball formation will take the field. In the men’s A3 and B2 women’s series the championships have not been suspended, but Da Rold Logistics and Volleyball Belluno women’s have both postponed. From C down, however, everything freezes for three weekends. We will restart on the last weekend of January, if the situation allows it.

“The world is beautiful because it is varied. There are companies that are lobbying to suspend the leagues and companies that say they will move on. Whatever choice you make, you have half with you and half against you ”, comments the president of Fipav Tre. One (who in recent days had stopped all tournaments managed locally), Michele De Conti.

“The regional committee”, explains De Conti, “suspended because, twenty-four hours ago, the postponed races had already reached 60% of those scheduled”.

The suspended days will be made up at the end of the second round, while the previous matches still to be played will be made up as soon as possible. Feltre (C female) and Drl Volleyteam (D male), in any case, have already done so on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

“I think it was in the air”, comments Fabiana Bianchini, the president of Spes Belluno, a company engaged with its first teams in both C men and D women, “also because there is a fairly significant increase in the cases of positivity of athletes in teams, I’m talking about Serie C and Serie D. In my opinion the decision to suspend the championships is right because otherwise it would be a delusion, even if I doubt that, given the situation, a suspension until January 23rd is enough ».
